Dr. Julian McNees is a new resident of Watkinsville Georgia and is thrilled to join us at 26 Foot & Ankle! He received his undergraduate education from the University of Alabama and received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University. Dr. McNees completed his surgical specialty training in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery in the Northeast Ohio region including hospitals in Cleveland, Akron, Canton, and Chagrin Falls. Dr. McNees was previously on the State Board of Podiatry in Indiana, and is excited to be back home in the Southeast.
Podiatry’s diverse field allows Dr. McNees to treat patients of all ages and any type of foot and ankle ailment including sports injuries, wound care, ingrown nails, and diabetic foot related problems. He enjoys helping patients get back on their feet quickly and receives great fulfillment out of building lasting doctor-patient relationships. He is grateful to live in a beautiful area that allows him to enjoy nature and gardening alongside his husband Stephen.
Dr. McNees is a Certified Master Gardener through the University of Georgia Extension Office, and enjoys working in his own garden as well as educating the public about best practices in home and professional gardens. He has created and installed many gardens professionally.
Besides gardening, Dr. McNees’ hobbies include kayaking our local rivers, discovering new artists/creators at Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) and the Lyndon Center; and exploring historic sites in Watkinsville, Athens, and beyond.
